Steam experience
We are now taking bookings for steam engine driver experience days - the cost of these will be around £325 per day. For this you will get the opportunity to eat breakfast off the shovel, work alongside our experienced firemen and drivers on the plate and driving the locomotive for an entire day. Half days will also be available (£225). We advise booking early, as we expect a lot of takers for this.

The Northampton Ironstone Railway Trust wishes to say a big THANKYOU to our NHS.
The Northampton Ironstone Trust is based within the Grounds of The Hunsbury Hill Country Park which is located at Hunsbury Hill, Southwest of Northampton. The trust has a small museum and café, workshop and of course its gardens. It also features a 1.5 mile long Heritage Railway line that runs through the park of which a small section has been approved for public use.
The line is mainly dedicated to freight working, featuring many sharp curves and steep gradients which were typical of the Industrial Railway. Rides are available in a variety of vehicles including a converted brake van.

Steam is back !!!!
Nearly 50 years have passed since we had regular steam running at NIRT - finally it is back - and there is more to come - watch this space
Water Tower Work
Work on our new water tower has begun. This is part of our preparations for the return of steam to NIRT. We hope to start running our new steam engine in September.
